Arduino IDE

The open-source Arduino software (IDE) allows you to quickly and easily upload code to the board. This is a real advantage for our customers, as the platform is particularly intuitive, flexible, and ready to use immediately.

FastLED – Animation library

If you want it to look particularly beautiful, you can easily control your ISELED® lights with the FastLED animation library by simply replacing the FastLED commands with FastISELED.

Arduino compatible

Thanks to Arduino compatibility, you can easily add switches, sensors, interfaces, and displays to customize your projects. This allows you to create solutions for a wide range of requirements.

Programming Easy programming via Arduino IDE, FastLED compatible (replace with FastISELED)
Power Supply Maximum 500mA via USB, external 5V power supply with jumper for backfeed protection
Level Shifter Integrated level shifters for 3.3V microcontrollers with 5V logic for ISELED®
Cable Length to First LED Cable length to the first LED should not exceed 0.3m; use Driver-LEDs for EMC sensitivity

Dimming Function Dimming values from 0 (brightest setting) to 3 (darkest setting)
SPI Signal The first LED receives the SPI signal and converts it into a differential bus signal

We provide a free sample program for controlling the ISELED. To do this, install the Arduino IDE (version 1.8.19, as the library storage is different in versions 2.x) (https://www.arduino.cc/en/software).

Search for and install ‘Arduino SAMD (32-bit ARM Cortex-M0+)’ boards in the Board Manager.

Unzip the included sample program into the Arduino subdirectory Libraries.

Restart the Arduino IDE and select ‘MKRZERO’ in the Board Manager.

Install the Arduino IDE version 1.8.19 (https://www.arduino.cc/en/software) on a PC/Laptop with administrator rights.

Note: newer versions 2.x are not suitable as it is more difficult to find the libraries.
In the Arduino IDE, select the Board Manager under Tools, load Arduino SAMD, then select Arduino MKR Zero:

For example, copy our ISELED library (included sample file) into the subdirectory Arduino\libraries.
You can place this .ino sample file in your individual project directory.
